Software

A range of software, including specialist subject software, is available to ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ students to support you with your studies. This for example includes software from Microsoft, including different versions of Windows.

Note that you can download the software below using your student account consisting of your username followed by @lu.se (for example ab1234xy-s [at] lu [dot] se) and your password.

Microsoft Software

Microsoft Office 365 University

Office 365 is free of charge for students at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ, and can be downloaded without a product key. The license is valid for as long as your student account is active.  

Log in via the Microsoft Office 365 Portal using your student account.

Once you have entered and submitted your login details, you will be redirected to ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ's sign-in page. Use your student account again to log in. Enter your LU username; username [at] lu [dot] se.

Note: After you have downloaded Office 365, Microsoft may require you to activate the software. Indicate that you already have an account and activate it using the same login details again; username [at] lu [dot] se.

Windows, Project Professional and other software

Students also have access to many of Microsoft's other programmes, for example Windows 10 and Project Professional. Log in with your LU username; username [at] lu [dot] se.

Most of the Microsoft licenses are still valid after you have completed your studies. This does not apply to Office 365 University, however. 

Mathematical software

Many students use the mathematical software Matlab and COMSOL. 

The user licenses apply to all students at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ, irrespective of what you are studying.

The programmes below can be downloaded directly from the University's programme portal. Note that you must be connected to the University's network or VPN to be able to log in.

  • Stava Rex (available for Windows, macOS)

After you have logged in, click on 'Ladda ner', then 'Student', and select your operating system. 

*To be able to use SPSS, you need to be on the University network.
