Description

The ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Academic Orchestra, with about 60 members, is the symphony orchestra of the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ students. The Conductor and Artistic Director is the University’s Director of Music, Patrik Andersson. The ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Academic Orchestra was established in 1745 to provide music for the University’s ceremonies and is thus Sweden’s third-oldest orchestra. In addition to playing at academic ceremonies, the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Academic Orchestra performs concerts, featuring symphonic works, in Odeum’s event series. The orchestra regularly goes on tour and visits other universities in Sweden and abroad.
