Arkivcentrum Syd

Much of southern Sweden's cultural heritage is stored in the archives at Arkivcentrum Syd. ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ, the Regional State Archives in Lund (Landsarkivet), the Regional Archives (Regionarkivet) and the Lund City Archives (Lunds stadsarkiv) are all based in the building, which has reading rooms with about 70 seats and more than 450,000 metres of shelving.

University Archives

At the University Archives (Universitetsarkivet) you can find documents from the University’s foundation in 1666 to today. The archives are open to the public.

Folk Life Archives

Most aspects of people’s way of life and customs and traditions are documented in the Folk Life Archives (Folklivsarkivet), which are Sweden's oldest archives of traditions. The archives also include the ³§°ìÃ¥²Ô±ð music collection, which documents folk music from ³§°ìÃ¥²Ô±ð.

University Library exhibitions

Besides its extensive library activities, the University Library also puts on regular exhibitions.

ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ art collection

The University's art collection is composed of paintings, sculptures, drawings and engravings. It contains works from the 15th century to the present day, with an emphasis on Swedish 19th and 20th century art. Dutch 15th century art is also well represented and the collection also includes high-quality modern Chinese art.

The extensive collection of drawings and engravings comprises around 1,500 works and spans six centuries. It includes works by masters such as Martin Schongauer, Albrecht Dürer and Rembrandt van Rijn.

The collection is primarily available for research and academic teaching, but parts of it have been displayed to the public at various times, including at Kulturen in Lund.

A number of the most important works of art in the collection are on permanent display in Gamla Biskopshuset in Lund.
