When did you graduate?

"I graduated in 2023."

What do you work with today?

"I am currently employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Axis Communications, a company that developes information assurance based surveillance cameras. Axis is located in Lund, near the LTH campus actually."

How did you find your current position?

"I began looking for jobs in the Skåne region while working on my Master's thesis. I truly got to appreciate Axis as a company over that process, and after two interviews, I was thrilled to get a job offer from them."

What do you like best about your job?

"In my role as a Mechanical Engineer, I am able to participate in the entire process of developing surveillance cameras. The opportunity to work on the whole camera’s development without being limited to a single aspect, is my favorite part of my profession. I follow along all the way from the conceptual design to the global assembly facilities. Even though I have only been employed for 9 months, I have already visited Poland and China, and I really enjoy traveling as well."

How are you changing the industry or the world (in a large or small way)?

"Axis Communications core value is to develop a smarter and safer world with their products, and their end costumers are located all over the world. I get to participate in these beliefs and change the world as a member of the R&D team at Axis."

Is there anything about the programme that has been particularly useful to you in your day-to-day work?

"The Master's programme has expanded my understanding of matters that are important to consider in the process of product development. I got to learn everything from what material to use in certain scenarios and end-user cases, to how the order of assembly procedures affects output. Small adjustments can make a significant difference to the process and I feel like the programme exposed me to factors that may arise in industries, allowing me to be more prepared and comprehend them now that I am working. In addition to this, the programme has an overall focus on sustainability, which is crucial for the future of development."

What do you miss most from your time at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ/LTH (The Faculty of Engineering)? What were the highlights of your time at Lund?

"Of course, I miss the student life at LTH, when you could write essays one day and go to amazing balls the next. The people I've met from all over the world are the highlights of my journey – from studying late at night together to becoming lifelong friends."

How international was your programme?

"My programme was very international. It was entirely in English and my class consisted of 14 people of 10 various ethnicities."

What was the focus of your thesis?

"My thesis was for a company in Helsingborg that wished to optimise one of their production lines. The thesis investigated different resulting factors of the production line, with emphasis on sustainability, and proposed improvements."

Why do you think prospective students should choose this programme?

"The programme covers various areas of production and materials while simultaneously providing a deepening of the subject. It is an intriguing Master’s that allows you to either begin a professional carrier or continue your research afterwards. I also like the fact that the programme focuses on sustainability. On top of that, I believe that Lund is an excellent place for making friends and take part in a great student life."

Do you have any advice for prospective students coming to Lund?

"I have lived in Lund my entire life and always thought of it as quite a small city. However, thanks to the great university, there are a lot of diverse people here and there truly is something here for everyone. Therefore, my advice to you is to be daring, try it out and make Lund your own."
